Emunah in Hashem includes emunah in the one soul He designs to draw back the sparks – this is empowering for submission of our hearts

Imagine that you take a one of a kind, irreplaceable and unduplicatable proof needed to claim something of immense value and, for safe keeping, put it in a box, in a filing cabinet, and move the cabinet to the attic so it is out of sight and out of being interfered with.

Imagine that you take a one of a kind, irreplaceable and unduplicatable proof needed to claim something of immense value and, for safe keeping, put it in a box, in a filing cabinet, and move the cabinet to the attic so it is out of sight and out of being interfered with.

After awhile, you totally forgot not only where it is but that you have this object. Not only that, you forgot that this valuable thing that you are looking for in other places, that you need, is irreplaceable and you spend every moment of every day looking for it elsewhere, imagining it will be found here, there or anywhere but in that box in the filing cabinet in the attic that is out of sight and mind.

Imagine how the substitutes begin to provide short term relief and how throughout the day, reliances on substitutes get us through.

Now imagine that someone comes and reminds you that the proof needed to claim the immense value is in a box, in a filing cabinet that you moved to the attic. Would you go upstairs and find it? And if you saw it, would you recognize it as what, indeed, the conglomeration of substitutes has been compensating for not having?

In the world of emanation, Hashem creates the soul of Adom, one soul, the only soul that has ever been created. In that soul He builds the capacity to draw back to Himself what He conceals in Elokim. The nefesh elokis, knesset Yisrael, is created by Hashem with the capacity to flow up and down His Infinite Light. This is where every person’s value comes from.

We are created as an emanation of this soul, without stopping, with the ability to provide a channel for His Light and we are never separate from this. What this means is that our soul cannot be abandoned or annihilated (except if we do 36 intentional aveiras that cut us off.)

We have intrinsic value to Hashem, we have purpose and reason to be alive, to breathe, to move in the realm of this world. We can serve as a channel to run and return His Infinite Light from where it is concealed in our natural subconscious reactions to our intentions to do mitzvahs.

Emunah in Hashem and emunah that Hashem designs the soul to do this empower us to change our perspective upon our painful moments.

Often those negative messages are cruel. With this perspective, we have a way to comprehend that looking into those messages overlooks the inherent reason and purpose for them – which is so that we recognize Elokim concealed therein, remember that He is the Majesty in the world and that we have a nefesh elokis that is empowered to flow light into this world at this very moment.

How do we do this?

Hashem is doing everything, He loves us, have awe that this is an opportunity to submit our hearts, confess our natural reactions which names and tames the four states of our being – our desires, our fears or anger, the gaps that blow us over when we feel shamed or disrespected, or our sadness and inertia to just not move at all – and tell Hashem that we do not want to invest any more of the life force He is giving at this very moment into the darkness hiding His Love from us.

Intentionally move forward with learning Torah, prayer, chesed or mitzvahs, focusing on the life force in the challenge as being willed into our intention to serve Him. Once these intentions and will are spoken, and we move, Hashem answers. What does it feel like to us? Try it out but often it feels like relief, like calmness, like a regaining of innocence.

We are our effort to see in every moment how to choose the truth of our identity as an emanation of Hashem.

We are our effort to see our reason and purpose in every breath is to submit our hearts and intend to be a channel for His Light.

He is doing everything. But with the body and soul that He gives to us, our will and our speech bring through the four states of existence a flow of light into the speech and deeds that we do. We may never comprehend one drop of how His spiritual realms react to that. However, we can have faith and confidence in the Torah and this faith and confidence, emunah and bitachon, is what leads to Hashem’s healing us from our addictions, our painful attachments, and our false beliefs and low self esteem.

May we embrace the truth of how Hashem has designed the life force within us so that we comprehend that our emanation from the one soul to do this work IS being one with His Honor and Glory. Shema Yisrael. Ein Od Milvado.

May we see that each of us has this potential and thereby view each other as having the potential to show His Honor and Glory even if that potential may be covered over.

And may our integration of these ideas into our minds help us walk with a submitted heart that is able to flow more and more light into the world.

“The more we elevate our power of connection and we use it as it should, a person becomes closer and closer to Hashem, to the holy Torah, to his own self, and to the depth of all other neshamosin Klal Yisrael, in his love for them. Then even the external aspects of our relationships with others will be improved.”
