Imagine if we could walk into the Bais HaMikdosh and see open miracles. We would come and bring our animal sacrifices and be purified.
We have been without the first Bais HaMikdosh for over 2400 years and have suffered through many tribulations .
Imagine for a moment, right now, that our hearts hold a way to bring a sacrifice that would purify us. Would you be interested? Relief from anxieties, relief from addictions, healing of pain and more. Surely we long for such a day.
What effort could we make, in our personal lives, to bring us on a path to that day?
Most of us have trigger points that we feel “take over”the controls…we end up feeling like victims of what we are experiencing. How could a thought or feeling or reaction be so forceful when it is not “alive?” And what steps are available to us that restore our security and joy?
Would you consider that Hashem has subjugated Himself to our will JUST to give us the opportunity to recognize that there is No Other Power? Our will is our desires. It is stimulated by many externalities and false beliefs. Consider: three is No Other Power. Hashem creates a being that can recognize Him, ask for its needs, upon whom He then bestows the good. The good is not in the circumstance but rather in the resulting feeling of wholeness and simcha that far surpasses the original external pursuit.
We may be familiar with our triggers, our patterns, our repeated mistakes and the impacts we have on others. We may be filled with regret. But are we able to change?
On our own, we cannot. We may make small steps, and we may reach bigger milestones. We may stop doing damaging things. In order to uproot the matter from our heart though, we need Hashem’s help. Why?
Whatever it is that is operating within our makeup so forcefully is filled by the Shechina in galus in nature. Hashem agrees to be concealed there JUST to give us real free will. He desires that we recognize that He is concealed there, in our unconscious and subconscious mind. knowing our patterns after much self-reflection, are we ready to bring the Shechina that is concealed within it and vitalizing something painful to instead bond with our spiritual being and shine through us into the world ?
The goal of our journey is to lovingly say “Hashem I want to not want the urges and natural experience that floods my system. I know that the power is Yours that is filling it. There is No Other Power. I love You. It is my will to be a strong vessel and channel to bring into the world Your Compassion instead. This is my desire. Please help me.”
Be prepared for the next round, the voice of doubt, the force the Shechina is concealed within that desires to tell us that Hashem doesn’t exist, isn’t listening, doesn’t care, or thinks we are bad and won’t help. These types of messages are made worse because all of the exiles, executions, mass murders, and persecutions seem to validate that false message. Again, repeat, “Hashem I want to not want the urges and natural experience that floods my system. I know that the power is Yours that is filling it. There is No Other Power. I love You. It is my will to be a strong vessel and channel to bring into the world Your Compassion instead. This is my desire. Please help me.”
Love Hashem and breathe, remembering that Yitzchok at the akeida was a female soul unable to have children until something from the experience mixed into his spiritual being. In Hallel, tehillim 113 says that the barren mother becomes the glad mother of children. Our binah, which is gevurah, is “barren” until it receives chochma and then together, chochma and binah bear the “children,” the emotions, with daas, integrated understanding of Hashem. It is a gift from Hashem when we receive a spark of Infinity.
Yet we are here to make the effort of wanting to not want our natural state and recognizing that it is Hashem’s force that is in exile there. We love Him. We recognize His Power. We know in its pure state He is love and mercy. And we want Him. We want His Will.
What we are doing when we make this effort is bringing a korbon. Korbon means to draw closer. We want the Shechina in galus in our false beliefs to be drawn from the pain He is animating to the spiritual being and intellect that desires Him. Thus, our love for Hashem and our desire for Him – to be a channel for His Will- must be our sincere truth.
After all of these years “going it on our own”, perhaps we can see that it is time to be ready for the truth, that through our own volition, we can bring our “image” to the “altar” and draw forth that spark of Infinity intended for us so that we may be the channel He Creates, upon whom He wishes to bestow the blessings. What does it require? Recognition of the Creator. Asking Him to help. Choosing to bring His Will into the world, meaning to bring Compassion and healing and love and peace into the world.
Are we ready to get over our image? Can we see that what is blocking us is filled by His Power, blinding us? Hashem is One. There is No Other. We all heard these commandments. Is it time to let go of our false beliefs?
May we all truly hear parshas Zachor and annihilate with fiery love for Hashem the darkness that blocks us from submitting to Him. Recognizing Him as the Power that fills our blocks IS the Power we need for healing. Trust in Him. Ask Him to help.
