Rabbi Dror Moshe Cassouto, Jerusalem – Renaming the Yetzer Hara to the “Koach Ha’Medameh”-“The power of imagination” detached from 13 attributes of mercy”

Video Shiur: Power of imagination | Yetzer Hara

Rebbe Nachman changed the name of the Yetzer Hara to the “Koach Ha’Medameh”-“The power of imagination”. The Yetzer Hara can only get to you through your imaginations. He can not force a person to do anything, rather he brings the person to stress and to negative imaginations in attempt to bring him down.
We must clarify our stressful and negative emotions by talking about them with Hashem in the field in our Hitbodedut.

As true of any fear or negative emotion when a person brings them into the light to examine them closer and especially in front of the creator he begins to see the fallacy of those emotions and fears.
As we know the Darkness is only the Lack of light and as soon as some light shines forth, the darkness crumbles and ceases to exist.
